F-Logan Holland...The 6-3 senior was a critical reserve for the Marshals last season, and he brings his blue-collar style to the starting lineup in '07-'08. A tough defender and rebounder, Holland will look to reprise the role of last year's do-the-little things forward, Mitchell Bohannon. Has a nice face-up game, and you can expect to see him canning jumpers from the elbows and the baseline.
F/C-Denver Seay...The 6-2 junior is a bruising interior presence. Capable as a scorer, rebounder, and defender, Seay equalizes his height disadvantage in the pivot with strength and tenacity. Expect him to be one of the region's most potent low post scorers by season's end.
G-Josh Madding...At 6-0, Madding offers the Marshals a rangy athlete on the wing, capable of playing either guard or forward. Has the potential to develop into another defensive stopper for Marshall, and he will be a potent offensive weapon in Gus Gillespie's motion offense. A very good three-point shooter, Madding also has the size and quickness to be a threat putting the ball on the floor.
G-Travis Spiceland...The 6-0 senior had been a very good player in this region for quite some time, but his play in the postseason a year ago elevated him into the region's elite. Although he is still relatively slight in frame, Spiceland is wiry strong and as tough as can be. A clever and crafty scorer, he was born to play within Marshall's motion framework. One of the region's best moving without the ball, no one utilizes screens better. Not a great three-point shooter, but always makes the ones that matter most. Excels at putting the ball on the floor and getting to the foul line, where he joins death and taxes among life's certainties. Just write them down.
G-Scott McKenty...The 5-10 junior looks like he might have just delivered your paper, but he's tough enough to take a charge from an eighteen-wheeler. Provides Marshall with savvy at the point guard spot, and given his ability to push tempo, he should give a boost to the Marshals' running game. A harrassing presence as an on-ball defender, and has an accurate jumper that will ease the offensive load on his backcourt mate, Spiceland.
